  ReSTOR Lens

A new artificial lens (intraocular lens) that often can restore sight at near, intermediate, and distant ranges following cataract surgery has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval. Traditional intraocular lenses correct only for one focal point, near or far.
Most patients' vision is clear in the distance but still requires reading glasses for near work.

The clinical studies supporting the approval of the new AcrySof ReSTOR lens showed that 80 percent of patients who received the lens did not need or use glasses for any activities after cataract surgery.

The AcrySof ReSTOR lens provides different ranges of vision based on a lens configuration that enables specific distribution of light in response to how wide or small the eye's pupil might be. This light distribution design is called apodized diffractive optics.

The doctors at Gainesville Eye Associates are certified and have ample experience in implanting the ReSTOR lens. We would be happy to discuss this lens as an option for you.
